    Description: The class decided to visit a bio-gas plant because the owner, who built it himself, uses the bio-gas (methane gas) produced there to cook and light his home. He also had a methane lamp, which is currently not working but he plans to fix it soon. The owner has cows and buffalo on his property, and he collects their dung to make a slurry. This slurry goes into a tank where it ferments and releases methane gas. The gas rises to the top of the tank and is piped to the kitchen stove. The leftover slurry is used as fertilizer.
